Quick Start Guide
From zero to your first screening result in under two minutes.
Step 1 — Go to the Screening Tool
From your dashboard, click the Start Screening button in the banner at the top of the page. This takes you to the Restricted Party Screening tool at Dashboard → Tools → RPS.
Step 2 — Enter a name to screen
Type the name of the individual or company you want to screen into the search box. Use the most complete version of the name you have. For example:
Acme Trading Co— screens for a companyJohn Smith— screens for an individualRostam Azizi— screens for a foreign individual
Note
Try different name variations if you are unsure of the exact spelling. TradeLasso uses fuzzy matching to catch near-matches, but running the most accurate version of the name first will give you the most useful results.
Step 3 — Review your results
Results appear below the search box within seconds. There are two possible outcomes:
- No matches found — No entries in the Consolidated Screening List closely match the name you searched. The result is marked as Clean.
- One or more matches found — Entries were found above the match threshold. Each match card shows the entity name, source list, match score, address, and other available details.
Step 4 — Understand a match
If results are returned, review each match carefully. A match does not automatically mean the entity you are screening is the same person or company on the list — common names and transliterations can produce false positives. Compare the address, aliases, and other identifiers shown on the result card against the information you have on your counterparty.
Step 5 — Save an entity (optional)
If you want to monitor an entity or keep a record of it, click the bookmark icon on any result card to save it to Saved Profiles. Saved entities can have compliance notes added and can be re-screened at any time.
Step 6 — Generate a PDF report (Pro)
If you are on a Pro plan, click Download Full Report after your search to generate a PDF compliance report. The report includes your name, company, the search query, the date, and all matching results — ready for your audit file.
Important
A clean result is not a legal clearance. Always conduct reasonable due diligence and consult a qualified compliance professional for high-value or high-risk transactions.
