Using Advanced Filters
Advanced filters let you narrow your search results by country or by specific source lists.
Accessing advanced filters
In the Restricted Party Screening tool, click Advanced Filters below the search box. The filter panel will expand, showing available filter options.
Country filter
The country filter narrows results to entities whose address is associated with a specific country. For example, if you are screening a counterparty in Iran, you can filter by "Iran" to focus only on matches from that jurisdiction.
Important
Not all entries on government lists have associated addresses. Applying a country filter may cause you to miss entities that have no address on record. Use this filter only when you have a strong reason to narrow by geography.
Source list filter
By default, TradeLasso searches all 13 lists simultaneously. The source filter allows you to restrict the search to specific lists. For example, you might screen only against the OFAC SDN List and the BIS Entity List for a particular transaction type.
Common reasons to use the source filter:
- Your compliance program requires separate documentation for OFAC vs. BIS screening
- You need to verify whether a specific entity appears on a particular list (e.g., for an audit query)
- Your product only falls under BIS jurisdiction and you want to limit noise from OFAC-only lists
Note
For general compliance screening, we recommend running with all 13 lists active (the default). Restricting the source set increases the risk of missing a relevant match on an excluded list.
Resetting filters
To clear all applied filters and return to the default (all lists, no country restriction), click Clear Filters or simply remove the values you have entered in each filter field.
Filters and batch screening
Advanced filters apply to single-entity RPS searches only. In Batch Screening, all uploads are screened against the full CSL. If you need country or list filtering for batch jobs, apply it during post-processing using the export CSV and the fuzzy slider.
